About me

Dr Pooja Ghalla Gogri is an alumnus of the prestigious Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of hospitals, Mumbai.After completing her graduation with MBBS, she went on to pursue her Ophthalmology training and became an ophthalmic surgeon with 3 feathers in her cap- acing with 3 Gold Medals at her Post graduate examination.

Discovering passion in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, Dr Ghalla Gogri pursued a short-term fellowship with the GPOS under the best mentors in Mumbai followed by a long-term fellowship in Paediatric ophthalmology, Strabismus and Neuro-ophthalmology from the internationally renowned Eye Institute- Narayana Nethralaya in Bangalore, ranked 2nd in India. 

As the Director and Owner of Jyotirmay Eye Clinic, her vision is to provide evidence-based eye care, with the highest standard of care, ethically and compassionately for the entire family.

Being an ophthalmologist first and having specialised in paediatric eye care, Dr Pooja Ghalla Gogri aims to cater to the entire family under one roof. 

Providing excellence in eye care to every patient, irrespective of their ability to pay and percolating services to the villages in Kutch, Gujarat remains an agenda to uplift eyecare, not only in the city. Regularly analysing patient outcomes and trying to constantly improve sets the basis to progress towards world class eye care.

Dr Ghalla Gogri Is also attached to Dr. L.H Hiranandani Hospital (Powai), Nahar Medical Center (Chandivali) as well as Bai Jerbai Wadia Children’s Hospital (Parel) and Maru Charitable trust, Parel.

Dr Ghalla Gogri is one of the mentors for a long term fellow in Paediatric ophthalmology under the aegis of GPOS at Wadia Hospital.She was an honorary visiting faculty at KEM Hospital (Parel) involved with training the residents in ophthalmology;

Her interests include-  Binocular vision anomalies, Cortical Vision impairment, children with special needs and catering to a child as a whole, treatment of simple and complex squints other than cataract.

She absolutely adores children and loves her time spent in the clinic with them. She dreams of doctors being a child’s friend. It is probably this that makes children want to come back to her for follow ups happily.Don’t forget to ask your child for a sticker after examination with her. 

When not in clinic, she is a mother of Winter(maltese) and Ebby(kitten); avid traveller; enjoys scuba-diving and adventure sports. Her husband, Renil, is an engineer from IIT-B and director at Aarti Industries public ltd. He continues to steer towards excellence.
